James A. Robinson, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Robinson was born and raised in San Antonio TX. After graduation from high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force to become an ophthalmology technician who performed special eye testing and served as a surgical eye assistant. After a seven-year tour with the Air Force, Dr. Robinson attended U.C. Berkeley Optometry School in California. Dr. Robinson completed a medical-based externship with the Veterans Administration in Tacoma, WA. He was awarded the Ocular Disease award for his graduating class of 1996. Dr. Robinson joined the Army after graduation from U.C. Berkeley and was deployed to Iraq in 2003 in the Green Zone of Iraq where he treated many service members with combat-related eye injuries. Dr. Robinson also attended aeromedicine training at Ft. Rucker as a Flight Optometrist and attended refractive surgery co-management training at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. He has also participated in aeromedical research in color vision testing. Dr. Robinson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and a licensed Optometric Glaucoma Specialist in Texas. Dr. Robinson enjoys seeing all patients and providing comprehensive medical eye evaluations.

Outside of the office, Dr. Robinson is a dog lover and enjoys traveling and learning optical illusions and magic tricks to show children.
